American Hollywood actress Helene Cardona receives Motivational Strips, Gujarat Sahitya Academy award
American Hollywood actress poet, Helene Cardona, has been honoured with Prashamshith Pathr Certificate of Appreciation by the world’s most active writers forum, Motivational Strips, and India Government’s premium literary institution, Gujarat Sahitya Academy, under State Government of Gujarat.
The honour was conferred on Helene for her literary excellence and contribution to world poetry.
Helene Cardona, who is a poet, linguist, literary translator and actor, received the award during India’s 74th Independence Day.
Helene, who was born in Paris, is the daughter of Spanish poet, Jose Manuel Cardona, from Ibiza, and a Greek mother.
Helene is a citizen of the United States, France and Spain. She studied at the University of Cantabria, Spain and the Sorbonne in Paris, gaining a master’s degree in American Literature.
She has received fellowships from the Goethe-Institut and the International University of Andalucía.
While speaking about the award, Helene stated that “I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the Independence Day Honours from Motivational Strips and Gujarat Sahitya Akademi as a poet.
“It is a wonderful incentive to keep writing and be an inspiration to others. I appreciate being part of this great literary institution, which hosts a wonderful community from the whole world”
Motivational Strips is the world’s most active writers forum with writers from 163 countries. The forum has monthly visitors crossing 7.5 million which makes it the most engrossing and active in world literature.
For the first time in history they had collaborated with India Government’s literary institution, Gujarat Sahitya Academy, to honour 350 writers from 80 countries, for their merits in literary excellence and contribution to world literature.
The online awarding event was done after stringent evaluation by both these literary bodies In honour of India’s 74th Independence Day.
The founder and president of Motivational Strips Shiju H. Pallithazheth has applauded the efforts of Helene Cardona and stated that she has been able to create a substantial impact in global poetry arena.
The Chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy Padma Shree Awardee, Dr Vishnu Pandya, stated that this honour will remain an inspiration to American literary entusiasts.
India’s leading newspaper, Times Of India, has declared the Independence Day honours as the top, a writer could ever achieve in a lifetime.
Helene Cardona has worked as a translator for the French Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Embassy, and for the film industry, her book Life in Suspension won the 2017 International Book Award in Poetry.
She played the part of Françoise “Fuffi” Drou, the beauty shop proprietor in the movie ‘Chocolat’. Helene’s love and passion for literature and poetry is remarkable and she continues to write for the world.
