As The Gambia joined the rest of the world on Tuesday March 8, 2022, to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, five notable, top female achievers have been identified and celebrated.

The selection was based on their achievements and appreciable roles in the development of their societies and the challenges they face.

This year’s commemoration is themed, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” and calls for climate action for women.
