A Gambian, Jawando Jallow, has donated blood to save the life of an unknown pregnant woman.
This was reported on What’s on Gambia Facebook page on Wednesday May 5, 2021.
“A pregnant woman’s life was saved thanks to the power of social media and the compassion of this young man here, Jawando Jallow,” the report reads.
It adds, “The woman was undergoing a c-section at Bafrow and urgently needed blood. When Jawando heard her plight, he ran to the health center to help.
“He broke his fast and donated blood to save her life!”
Jallow’s gesture, therefore, generated reactions from Facebookers who commended his compassion for the woman.
Reacting to Jallow’s gesture, a Facebooker, Michelle Sharon, commented, “Donating blood to help save life’s respect to everyone who can donate blood. Life matters; may god bless him.”
Another Facebooker, Fatou Kanyi, wrote, “Mashallah. Thank you, bro. You did a rewarding jobe. Without blood is very difficult to survive; you have safe a life. May Allah save guide u may he reward you.”
Ishmael Jones who also commented about the gesture, wrote, “Anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole humanity.”
While making a reference to the Holy Qur’an 5:32, he wrote, “Your selfless action has just earned you abundance of blessings especially during this blessed month.”
